Clear Creek Ministry Team

There are certain aspects of the churches role that require assistance outside of our volunteer staff. Our team of ministers engage in delivering the vision of Clear Creek into our community.

Joshua’s experience ranges from youth ministry to adult groups coordination and from member assimilation to preaching and teaching. He is a gifted speaker and teacher and loves studying God’s Word. Joshua served at the First Colony Church of Christ in Sugar Land, Texas, for six years as the Community Life Minister. He oversaw 80+ small groups, new member assimilation, outreach, special projects, teaching and, on occasion, preaching. Most recently, he served at the Antioch Church of Christ in Nashville as the Senior Minister. Joshua is passionate about making disciples by teaching God’s Word and sharing Jesus with this broken world.

Jake grew up in California. He experienced culture shock for the first time moving to Arkansas where he received his B.S. in Public Administration and his M.B.A. from Harding University. He and his wife, Shelly, served as missionaries in South America for almost five years and in Asia for one year.  Jake now serves as the Executive Minister at Clear Creek. He has a passion for missions, missionary care, and helping people disciple others in their walk with Jesus. Jake and Shelly have been married since 2000.  They have two small girls that keep them young and busy.

Evan is the sole minister on staff born and raised in Chattanooga.  He attended Freed-Hardeman University where he received a B.S. in Psychology and met his wife Rachel. After feeling a call to the mission field, God led them to the country of the Dominican Republic where they started and ran a private Christian high school aimed at using the educational process as a medium for discipleship.  After moving back stateside, Evan became the Children’s Minister at Clear Creek in June of 2013.  He worked in that role until the church’s renewed focus on making disciples opened up the new position of Discipleship Minister, a minister to work with Clear Creek’s main disciple-making tool of groups.  He has been serving in that role since September of 2016. Evan and Rachel have three beautiful children: Connor, Anniston and Charlee.

Jana was born in rural West Kentucky to a farming, church-going family that still lives on and farms the same land and attends the same small country church. Having graduated with a B.A. Degree in Physical Education and Elementary Education from Murray State University in 1982, Jana taught school and coached for a few years. Jana in partnership with Phil has served in Youth Ministry almost 30 years in Kentucky, Georgia, Florida and Tennessee. She has been on staff at Clear Creek since 2004: six years in Youth Ministry, six years as First Connections Minister, and now Children’s Minister since 2016. Jana makes it her business to seek out new faces and make sure they feel welcome. Jana has been married to Phil since 1978. They have two sons, Caleb and Kidron and two daughters-in-law, Jessie and Rebekah.

Phil was born into a family of ministers from Kentucky.  He attended Harding University and Lipscomb, receiving a B.S. in Bible and Psychology from Lipscomb. His Masters concentration was in Clinical Psychology from Murray State University. He and Jana have partnered in Youth Ministry for 30 years in Kentucky, Georgia, Florida, and Tennessee.  During that time they helped create the Celebration Retreat, Uplift Bible Camp at Harding, Impact Bible Camp at Lipscomb, and the National Conference on Youth Ministries plus several Work Camps.  Phil has been at Clear Creek since 2004 serving as Youth Minister for six years and Servant Leadership Minister for six years before becoming the Children's Minister in 2016. Phil and Jana have two married sons, Caleb married to Jessie and Kidron married to Rebekah.

Mitchell was born north of Houston, TX and considers himself blessed to have spent his first nineteen years living in the same community and attending the same church where his father ministered for over 25 years. He and his eventual wife Kayla met in youth group and later attended Abilene Christian University, where he earned a degree in Biblical Studies with a focus on Youth Ministry.  Upon graduation, Mitchell took a youth ministry apprentice position at Oak Hills Church in San Antonio, and later became the Youth Minister at Church of Christ at The Colonies in Amarillo, TX. He served there over two years before being invited to join the team in Chattanooga. He has now been working with the Clear Creek Youth Ministry since late 2010, and in 2017 made the transition to focus on Middle School students. Mitchell and Kayla married in 2007 and welcomed their son Hunter into the family in 2012.

Aubrey was born in Atlanta and grew up in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He received a B.S. in history and education from Middle Tennessee State University and recently received his Master’s in Christian Practice specializing in teen and family counseling through Lipscomb University. Aubrey joined our staff in February of 2017 as the high school youth minister. He has served in youth ministry for the past 13 years.  His wife Robin loves partnering with him in ministry, and she and their four man-cubs roll with Aubrey to most youth trips and events. Aubrey and Robin see youth ministry as very family oriented. Aubrey's favorite thing about youth ministry is what he calls the "Aha! moment." The moment when a young person transitions from a casual Jesus follower to a sold-out disciple of Jesus Christ! Aubrey and Robin were married in 2003.  They have four sons, Wyatt, Justus, Hurst, and Kam.
