reopening plan update

We are looking forward to worshiping with you in person!  We have resumed worship at the building with worship times at 9:00am and 11:00am!  We all know that worship is not going to be the same in the beginning.  It will be great to be together even with social distancing, limited size, and no hugs or hand shakes! Now that we are back to in person worship, Clear Creek has a Sunday page with Teaching Notes and other links at

In order to maintain social distancing guidelines, families must register all family members online for the worship time they wish to attend. Per governor’s guidelines, space will be limited for each worship time. Bring a copy of your registration confirmation email or show it on your phone when you arrive. Please register, we do not want to turn anyone away. Doors will be open 15 minutes before each worship time. Please enter from the front parking lot and front doors. Other parts of the building will be closed.

Because we have limited seats available during our In-Person Worships and may have guests, please cancel your reservation by Thursday at 5:00pm if you will not be able to attend. How to cancel your reservation.

Thank you for your response to the survey asking for your cares and concerns, and how you see us moving forward to in-person worship. Though the building has been closed for months, the church has still been hard at work, discipling and sharing Jesus in our communities. Thank you!

  • We are One Church, no matter whether you are worshiping at home or at the building. Live Stream will continue to be available at 9:00am and 11:00am. If you are part of the at-risk population, are unable to attend in person, or are uncomfortable attending in person, we will continue to provide our online streaming platform for people at home.

  • We are One Family that respects each other. Each person in our church family falls in a range of  attitudes toward the virus and social distancing guidelines, from very cautious to not worried at all. We want everyone to feel welcome and safe as we worship together in person.

health & Safety precautions

As we move into the next phase and begin worshiping together in person, here’s what the leadership asks of us during this time:

  • Touchless Experience: Our team has worked hard to ensure that all worship times are, for all intents and purposes, “touchless”. If you choose to worship with us in person, you won’t have to open doors or pass offering or communion. While with us, we also ask that you respect one another’s social distancing preferences by not assuming someone wants to hug or shake hands.

  • Entry and exit: There will be specific doors to enter before worship and exit after worship. The worship center, lobby and front restrooms will be the only accessible parts of the church building due to cleaning requirements. All other areas of the building will be closed.

  • Masks: Unless on stage, all volunteers and staff are instructed to wear masks. Masks are strongly encouraged for all middle-school children and older while in the building to protect all worshipers. Masks are available at the building entrance if needed.

  • Worship Center Seating: Greeters and ushers will oversee entry, seating, and exiting for all to ensure safe, social distancing practices are upheld. We ask that families sit together. Seating will maintain 6 feet apart.

  • Singing: We will sing together, but we strongly encourage worshipers to wear masks while singing.

  • Communion: Prepackaged communion will be available for you on the way in or you may bring your own.

  • Giving: We encourage you to give online at or mail a check to: Clear Creek Church of Christ, 5612 Hixson Pike, Hixson, TN 37343.

  • Children and Youth: Children and youth are asked to sit together with their families during worship. We will not be able to provide Sunday children and youth classes in order to honor the current social distancing guidelines.

  • Staff and Volunteer Screening: All staff and volunteers will undergo temperature checks and COVID-19 screening questions before serving each week. In addition, staff and volunteers who will be in close contact with large numbers will be wearing a mask.

  • Facility Cleaning/Sanitizing: Between each worship service, all doors, restrooms, and all high touch areas will be sanitized.

  • Hand sanitizer stations will be available, and you are encouraged to bring your own sanitizer.

  • Handouts: There will be no bulletin or paper handouts. You are encouraged to continually check the website and daily news for updates.

  • Restrooms will be open but limited to one person per sink at a time. To help with social distancing, an attendant will be present at each restroom.

  • Cafe won’t be open for fellowship and coffee.

  • Water fountains will not be available and will be turned off. You are welcome to bring your own water bottle.

The leadership will continue to monitor social distancing recommendations and make any changes needed as we move forward.

If you have a fever, are experiencing any COVID-like symptoms, have traveled to a hot spot or have been in close proximity to someone who is exhibiting symptoms or has tested positive for COVID-19, we ask that you please join us online for WORSHIP this weekend.

current Phase

The Clear Creek Leadership Team continues to seek God’s guidance along with input from city and state officials, local health experts, and other churches on the most prudent reopening plan. While we are eager to meet together, our primary concern remains the welfare of our members and guests as we follow Jesus in this unprecedented time.  We will continue to monitor the situation and adjust our plan accordingly. Every family is unique, so please use your best judgment when deciding how your family will engage during this season.

  1. We will continue to follow the Governor’s guidelines and practice social distancing.
  2. House Churches (Small Groups) are welcome to meet together in homes to watch the Sunday worship service followed by discussion so long as appropriate social distancing is practiced.
  3. We will continue to provide online worship as well as in-person worship.
  4. Our building will remain closed for activities other than Sunday worship and approved church activities.
  5. Our church outdoor spaces are open to groups following social distancing guidelines.
  6. Parents or guardians must provide written permission for minors to participate in activities.
